Well, I haven’t listened to the original version yet. I discovered Bilja’s version and then looked for the lyrics. When I first listened to it, I didn’t even know it was a Bulgarian song. I used Google translate to identify the language.

What translations are you referring to? Because I don’t speak Bulgarian. The truth is I also dislike assessing people’s work in general. I don’t like to say whether something is good or less good. My main focus in assessment is on French translations of Romanian songs. And some people feel sad if I give them less than 5 stars, so I’m trying to avoid rating translations in general.

Hey, I live at 50 km from your country, I used to watch cartoons and some TV shows on your national television in the late 80’s, early 90’s, but I didn’t acquire too much knowledge on the language. I know some words and expressions (dobro utro, adin a nula, nula na nula, blagadaryoo) and a profanity that a Bulgarian girl taught me.
And my second biggest wish is to visit Kazanlak (the Tharcian tombs) one day. I totally love those paintings there, they are a lot better than anything in Louvre or the Hermitage museum. Leonardo da Vinci’s works are just sketches compared to those mural paintings.

I used to go to that festival with my father and I loved those traditional dances. Very entertaining, very fast, very energetic.
